Harlee Santos (Jennifer Lopez) is a charismatic single mother and resourceful detective at the heart of a tight-knit crew of Brooklyn detectives, led by enigmatic Lieutenant Matt Wozniak (Emmy Award winner Ray Liotta, "Goodfellas," "Field of Dreams"), who often leads the team to step outside the limitations of the law in order to effectively protect their precinct and their own.

As a big illegal job looms on the horizon, the FBI catches Harlee in the act and pits her against her own unit. As a newly turned informant, she struggles to safeguard her on-the-job family and avoid arrest in order to stay with her daughter. Harlee engages in a perilous dance with her FBI handler, Special Agent Stahl (Warren Kole), who develops an unhealthy obsession with her. Meanwhile, Wozniak, acting as the unit's patriarch, begins an all-consuming hunt for the informant. Pressure mounts as the crew struggles to perform their brand of street justice under FBI watch.

"Shades of Blue" is a production of Universal Television, Nuyorican Productions, EGTV, Ryan Seacrest Productions and Jack Orman Productions.

2016-01-08 by thepoperopeRizzoli and Islesdiscuss
Rizzoli & Isles' upcoming seventh season will be its last.

"This is the last year of Rizzoli," Kevin Reilly, President, TBS & TNT and chief creative officer of Turner Entertainment, said during his executive session at the Television Critics Association Press Tour.

The series, which follows Boston detective Jane Rizzoli (Angie Harmon) and medical examiner Maura Isles (Sasha Alexander), is currently TNT's longest-running drama.

"I think both ladies have had a really satisfying experience," Reilly added. "I don't know if they wouldn't do any more, but...it felt like it was time...let's finish out with 13 great ones and call it a day."

The series is in the midst of its sixth season (returning on Saturday, Feb. 13). The seventh and final season (which will consist of 13 episodes, including the show's 100th hour) will air this summer.

Go behind the scenes with Chris Carter, David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson and all the key players as they reveal secrets from the set and take you on the epic journey of bringing this classic series back to Fox."

"Thirteen years after the original series run, the next mind-bending chapter of THE X-FILES is a thrilling, six-episode event series from creator/executive producer Chris Carter, with stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson re-inhabiting their roles as iconic FBI Agents FOX MULDER and DANA SCULLY. Mitch Pileggi also returns as FBI ASST. DIR. WALTER SKINNER, Mulder and Scully's boss, who walks a fine line between loyalty to these investigators and accountability to his superiors. This marks the momentous return of the Emmy- and Golden Globe Award-winning pop culture phenomenon, which remains one of the longest-running sci-fi series in network television history. THE X-FILES debuts with a special two-night event beginning Sunday, Jan. 24, 2016 (10:00-11:00 PM ET/7:00-8:00 PM PT), following the NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME, and continuing with its time period premiere on Monday, Jan. 25 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT). The all-new episodes will feature appearances by guest stars, including Joel McHale ("Community"), Robbie Amell ("The Flash"), Lauren Ambrose ("Dig," "Six Feet Under"), Annabeth Gish ("The Bridge"), Annet Mahendru ("The Americans"), Rhys Darby ("Flight of the Conchords"), Kumail Nanjiani ("Silicon Valley") and William B. Davis, who reprises his role as "Cigarette Smoking Man." Three of the episodes are written and directed by Chris Carter, with the remaining new episodes written and directed by original series veterans Glen Morgan, Darin Morgan and James Wong."

Peter Capaldi suggests his third season might be his last
2015-12-28 by thepoperopeDoctor Whodiscuss
Now that the Doctor Who Christmas special, "The Husbands of River Song," has come and gone, fans of the long-running British science fiction television show will have to wait quite awhile before the tenth series arrives in late 2016. The search for a new companion is on, but that's not the only cast member who could need replacing. That's according to the Twelfth Doctor himself, Peter Capaldi, who told the Telegraph that his third year playing the character might be his last:

"This could be my final year. I love Doctor Who but it can be quite an insular world and I do want to do other things. There will come a time when this is over. But I knew that when I started. I was thinking about my regeneration scene from the outset. That's my terrible melancholic nature. When you accept the job you know there'll come a day, inevitably, when you'll be saying goodbye."

"Every Doctor should be different from the last one. If you want exclusively young, sexy guys, to me that's not Doctor Who. You want occasional ones like that - but then some other eccentrics. I always think that if you're Doctor Who, somebody somewhere's going to love you. That's comfort. But if people don't like me there'll be another one along in a minute. It's only Doctor Who - and I say that with the greatest of respect and affection."
