|John is meeting with his therapist Ella for the first time in 18 months. He asks if she keeps up on the news and, if she does, then she must know why he’s there. Ella invites him to talk about what happened, telling him that he needs to get it out, and he tells her that his best friend, Sherlock Holmes, is dead.
Three Months Earlier|
The Hounds of Baskerville
|Young Henry runs through the woods, the screams of his father being ripped apart echoing in his head. He finally finds an old woman on the moors, walking her dog, and she asks what is wrong. When the dog moves toward Young Henry he screams.
In the present, Henry Knight is standing on the moors and starts to move off, startled.|
A Scandal in Belgravia
|At the pool, Moriarty tells his men to kill Sherlock and John. Sherlock aims his gun at the explosives pack that was wired to James, and suddenly Moriarty’s phone rings. He asks if he can answer it and Sherlock tells him to go ahead. Disgusted, Moriarty takes the call, and then screams at the caller, telling him to repeat it. He warns that if the caller is lying, he’ll hunt the person down and skin them alive. Satisfied, Moriarty then apologizes to Sherlock, telling him that it’s the wrong day to die. Sherlock asks if he got a better offer, and Moriarty says that Sherlock will be hearing from him. He walks away, telling the caller that if he has what is claimed, he’ll make him rich. The snipers leave as well and John wonders what happened. Sherlock figures that someone changed Moriarty’s mind and wonders who. |
The Great Game
|In Minsk, Belarus, Sherlock talks to a prisoner, Bewick, and tells him to explain what happened, from the beginning. Bewick tells him that he picked up a woman at a bar, and she kept getting on him. He finally picked up a knife without realizing it, and stabbed her. As he talks, Sherlock can't resist correcting his poor grammar. Finally, Sherlock leaves, and Bewick insists that he'll be hung without his help. Sherlock pauses only long enough to tell him it's "hanged," not "hung," and departs.|
The Blind Banker
|At a museum, Soo Lin Yao demonstrates a tea ceremony and how tea pots are aged. Another attendant, Andy Gilbraith comes over and talks to her, and Soo Lin notes that the pots are cracking. Andy asks her out for a drink, but Soo Lin says he wouldn't like her that much. She refuses Andy's invitation and tells him to stop asking.
The museum closes for the night and Soo Lin works late closing up. She hears someone moving in the museum and goes to investigate, and finds something shocking on the statue beneath a cloth.|
A Study in Pink
|Dr. John H. Watson wakes up from a dream of his time in the war. He goes in to see a counselor, who warns that it will take a while for him to adjust to civilian life. She suggests that he write a blog about what happens to him, but John insists that nothing ever happens to him.
