"CINEMAX DRAMA SERIES OUTCAST TO DEBUT JUNE 3; NETWORK GREENLIGHTS SECOND SEASON
AUSTIN, March 14, 2016 - The CINEMAX drama series OUTCAST will launch its ten-episode season FRIDAY, JUNE 3 and has been renewed for a second season ahead of the series debut, it was announced today at the 2016 SXSW Festival. The series is created and executive produced by Robert Kirkman ("The Walking Dead"), and executive produced by showrunner Chris Black.
"OUTCAST has been a passion project of mine for many years," said Kirkman. "Seeing it come together has been a huge thrill for me. What we've been able to achieve on CINEMAX, with its unprecedented creative freedom, frankly, almost scares ME at times."
"Going into the first season of OUTCAST, we knew that Robert Kirkman had once again created a world that would scare us to our core," said Kary Antholis, president, Cinemax Original Programming. "But what he, Chris Black and the rest of their team have delivered has exceeded even those high expectations. We believe our viewers will immediately be sucked into OUTCAST's intense and creepy landscape, which is why we have chosen to pick up a second season."
Based on the Skybound/Image comic title by creator Robert Kirkman and artist Paul Azaceta, OUTCAST follows Kyle Barnes, a young man who has been plagued by demonic possession all his life. Now, with the help of the Reverend Anderson, a preacher with personal demons of his own, Kyle embarks on a journey to find answers and regain the normal life he lost. But what Kyle discovers could change his fate - and the fate of the world - forever.
Patrick Fugit ("Gone Girl") stars as Barnes, a man searching for answers, and for redemption, who sequesters himself from those he loves for fear of causing greater hurt.
Philip Glenister ("Life on Mars") stars as Reverend Anderson, a West Virginia evangelist who believes he is a soldier in God's holy war against the forces of evil on Earth. An inveterate drinker and gambler, he doesn't believe God intends people to sweat the small stuff.
Gabriel Bateman ("Stalker") stars as Joshua Austin, an eight-year-old who lives across town from Kyle. To his family's dismay, he appears to be in the clutches of demonic possession, but there's something very different about this possession and its connection to Kyle Barnes.
OUTCAST is produced for CINEMAX by FOX International Studios (FIS), and also executive produced by David Alpert, Sharon Tal Yguado and Sue Naegle. The pilot was directed by Adam Wingard ("The Guest")."

"AMC AND SONY PICTURES TELEVISION ANNOUNCE THE SEASON THREE RENEWAL OF EMMY(R) NOMINATED DRAMA "BETTER CALL SAUL"
Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould Return as Co-Showrunners for a Ten-Episode Season
The First Two Seasons of "Saul" Established the Series as one of the Highest Rated Dramas on Cable
New York March 15, 2016 AMC and Sony Pictures Television announced today the renewal of critically acclaimed drama "Better Call Saul" for a third season. The prequel to the award-winning series "Breaking Bad," "Saul" will return with a ten-episode season, helmed by showrunners Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould. The series is executive produced by Gilligan, Gould, Mark Johnson ("Breaking Bad," Diner, Rain Man), Melissa Bernstein ("Breaking Bad," "Rectify," "Halt and Catch Fire") and "Breaking Bad" alum Thomas Schnauz.
"What Vince, Peter, Bob and the entire team have accomplished with 'Better Call Saul' is truly rare and remarkable. They have taken one of the most iconic, immersive and fan-obsessive (in the best possible way) shows in television history and created a prequel that stands on its own," said Charlie Collier, president of AMC, SundanceTV and AMC Studios. "Watching Jimmy McGill's thoughtful, melodic and morally flexible transformation into Saul Goodman is entertaining and delighting millions of fans, whether their starting point was 'Breaking Bad' or not. This series has its own feel, pace and sensibility and we can't wait to see what this incredibly talented group comes up with next in season three."
"It's been an extraordinary show that lives up to its predecessor," said Jamie Erlicht and Zack Van Amburg, presidents of programming and production for Sony Pictures Television. "Vince, Peter, Bob and the team are delivering brilliant storytelling and we're proud to have AMC as our partner for another well-earned season."
Better Call Saul was nominated for seven 2015 Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for Jonathan Banks, and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drams Series for Bob Odenkirk, who also received SAG and Golden Globe nominations. The four episode live+3 ratings averages for season two are 4.4 million viewers per episode, including 2.7 million adults 25-54 and 2.5 million adults 18-49.
"Better Call Saul" is set six years before Saul Goodman meets Walter White. When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny and hustling to make ends meet. Working alongside and often against Jimmy is "fixer" Mike Erhmantraut, a beloved character first introduced in "Breaking Bad." The series will track Jimmy's transformation into a man who puts the criminal in "criminal lawyer." "
