Person of Interest canceled by CBS (Not official yet)
2015-10-12 by thepoperopePerson of Interestdiscuss
The upcoming shortened season 5 will be the last of Person of Interest season on CBS

"Michael Emerson (Harold Finch) has confirmed the CBS cancellation of Person of Interest after Season 5.

Speaking at New York Comic-Con, the actor said the upcoming 13-episode fifth season will indeed be the last on CBS, though, as previously noted, he holds out hope that another outlet will resurrect the show for Season 6.

It had been hoped that an upturn in ratings, spurred in part by the show's recent release on Netflix, could persuade the CBS powers that be to keep POI for Season 6.

However, judging by Emerson's comments, minds have already been made up â€" though as you might expect, CBS has yet to make an official announcement.

Of course, things can change and given that Season 5 is likely to leave the story open to some extent, there's still the possibility that Netflix or another platform could save the day. Stay tuned…"

Extant has been canceled by CBS

Glenn Geller, president of CBS Entertainment, said:

"CBS, Halle Berry and the producers have decided to conclude the Extant story after last season's exciting and fitting conclusion. Extant played an important role in expanding CBS's lineup of original scripted programming in the summer. We are proud of the show's success on the network, as well as its popularity on Amazon Prime Video. We also want to thank the incomparable Halle Berry for her commitment and support for the series, and look forward to working with her on our next project together."

Said Berry:

"I am so proud of what we accomplished on Extant. This season seemed such a natural place to end Molly's journey that I, along with CBS, felt it best served the story to leave it there. I've loved this experience working with such a talented cast and creative team. It was my first foray into episodic television, and I'm excited to continue my relationship with CBS, producing more compelling stories through my 606 Films production banner."

"AMC RENEWS "HALT AND CATCH FIRE" FOR THIRD SEASON

NEW YORK, NY â€" October 8, 2015 â€" AMC today announced that it has ordered a third season of "Halt and Catch Fire," a show that garnered significant critical acclaim in its second season, which shifted focus from building a personal computer to online gaming and communication and the early days of what would become the Internet. Co-creators and writers Christopher Cantwell and Christopher C. Rogers have been upped to showrunners for the 10-episode third season, which will return to AMC next summer. The series will also debut on AMC Global channels around the world.

"We love what the creative team and cast have been able to deliver on 'Halt and Catch Fire' and are particularly grateful to the critics and fans who supported the show throughout the second season and have been pulling for its renewal," said Joel Stillerman, president of original programming and development for AMC and SundanceTV. "We're so thankful for the talent and leadership of Jonathan Lisco over these first two seasons and glad that we are able to continue this story with co-creators and showrunners Chris Cantwell and Chris Rogers at the helm. In a world of TV series filled with scary, mythical creatures like zombies and dragons, we're thrilled to be able to follow these characters to Silicon Valley and finally bring unicorns to television."

Cantwell and Rogers said: "We are beyond thrilled to have the opportunity to continue telling this story. 'Halt and Catch Fire' has been a passion project of ours from day one, and we are so thankful that AMC not only shares this passion, but also continues to champion bold character-driven storytelling in an increasingly crowded television landscape. While we know we would not be here were it not for the leadership and mentorship of former showrunner Jonathan Lisco, we're incredibly excited to continue working with our wonderful producing partners at Gran Via, as well as our extremely talented cast and crew. Much in the way that 'Halt' is about underdogs overcoming convention and breaking new ground, the story of season 3 will endeavor to further stretch the medium and challenge the form." "

Prison Break revived for season 5
2015-09-26 by thepoperopePrison Breakdiscuss
The Prison Break limited series, which has been in the works for months at Fox, has finally come together. Fox's Gary Newman officially announced the revival this morning. Creator/executive producer Paul Scheuring is currently writing the first episode and a bible, and when he is done, Newman fully expects the project to get straight-to-series order.

Stars Wentworth Miller, who got his break on Prison Break, and Dominic Purcell both will be back. The 10-episode limited series is "a bit of a sequel, it picks up several years after the end of the series," Fox's Dana Walden said. The new installment will largely ignore the straight-to-video finale, which saw the demise of Miller's Michael, though the limited series will provide "a logical and believable explanation to why the characters are alive and still moving around the world," Walden said. "The brothers and some of the iconic characters will be back, and it will address some questions that were set up at the end of the series for a new audience," she said.
