Season 3 of smash-hit series gets new Fridays at 10 p.m. ET timeslot beginning February 12 –

TORONTO (December 9, 2015) – After gallons of blood spilled, hundreds of shirts ripped, and countless Mutts slain, Space confirmed today that its hit original series BITTEN returns for its third and final season February 12 in a new Fridays at 10 p.m. ET timeslot. Iconic genre star Laura Vandervoort (SMALLVILLE, Ted) returns to helm the sexy thriller as the embattled Elena Michaels, the world's only female werewolf. Season 3 of the 10-episode, one-hour series delves into the theme of duty versus family, and the lengths one will go to keep both intact. Space also revealed today a chilling sneak peek at Season 3 of BITTEN. To view the clip, click here.

Season 3 picks up several months after the harrowing battle in the Season 2 finale. Bolstering their ranks in the wake of the carnage The Pack is on the hunt for a dangerous group of traitorous Mutts lead by former Spanish Alpha, Eduardo Escobado (Mishka Thébaud, SAVING HOPE). Meanwhile, Elena struggles with Pack Alpha Jeremy Danvers' (Greg Bryk, A History Of Violence, THE BOOK OF NEGROES) new draconian leadership style, and makes a shocking and surprising discovery about herself.

"With the incomparable Laura Vandervoort at the helm, BITTEN was a ferocious drama from the get-go and we are so proud to have seen it make its mark in the television landscape from its home on Space," said Tracey Pearce, Senior Vice-President, Specialty and Pay, Bell Media. "Along with the many devoted fans, we cannot wait to see what happens with Elena and the rest of The Pack as the BITTEN saga finally culminates in Season 3."

"We are grateful to our broadcast partners at Space for three seasons of support," said Executive Producer and Director, J.B. Sugar. "Season 3 takes us back to our werewolf roots and, with our strongest scripts and performances yet, I am confident fans in Canada and around the world are going to be hungry for more."

"Alongside J.B., the entire cast and crew and our incredible broadcast partners, we are excited to deliver this powerful upcoming season to the show's loyal fans who are chomping at the bit for more," said John Morayniss, CEO, eOne Television.

In the Season 3 premiere episode, "Family, of Sorts" (Friday, Feb. 12 at 10 p.m. ET), in order to solidify his power, a war-hardened Jeremy has tasked Elena, Clay, and Nick with recruiting all North American Mutts into The Pack. But, when an unknown werewolf sniper takes a shot at the Alpha, The Pack must adjust course to track down those responsible. Meanwhile, Elena is accosted by a mysterious stranger who challenges her with a shocking claim.

Season 3 of BITTEN also sees the return of Pack members Clayton Danvers (Greyston Holt, ALCATRAZ, DURHAM COUNTY) and Nick Sorrentino (Steve Lund, BEING ERICA, HAVEN). Also returning are Tommie-Amber Pirie (Michael: Tuesdays & Thursdays) as Paige Winterbourne, and Genelle Williams (REMEDY, WAREHOUSE 13) as Rachel Sutton. New to the cast this season is John Ralston (DEGRASSI), Alex Ozerov (ORPHAN BLACK), and Sofia Banzhaf (REPUBLIC OF DOYLE), mysterious new characters who throw Elena's and The Pack's lives into disarray."

The bastard executioner canceled by FX, No Season 2

variaty reported

Sutter and FX Networks CEO John Landgraf had a candid conversation recently that sealed the decision about the show.

"The numbers just didn't sustain the cost of the show, quite frankly," Sutter said. "It's all math at the end of the day. We couldn't establish that core audience that allows you to figure out your advertising paradigm and whether or not the show is affordable."

Sutter is putting his money where is mouth is via an ad running in the Nov. 24 edition of Variety, among other outlets, thanking the "Bastard" cast and crew for their hard work. He also gives a shoutout to Imagine Television, which produced the series with 20th Century Fox TV's Fox 21 banner, numerous Fox execs and Landgraf, among others.

"I have been awed by the talent and commitment of this 'TBX' cast and crew," Sutter states in the ad. "The audience has spoken and unfortunately the word is, 'meh.' So with due respect, we bring our mythology to an epic and fiery close."

Sutter said the experience of detaching from Hollywood to produce a period drama in a remote part of England was exhilarating, enlightening and by the end, a little emotional.

"I love this cast and crew so much," Sutter said. "They're primarily British actors. They have a different mentality about the work. They're not plugged into the numbers or worried about 'Do I have a job?' They're so used to be journeymen. They were there to do the work. By the finale the whole cast and crew had bonded and everyone was so excited about this show and the mythology. And by that time I already knew it wasn't coming back. It was heartbreaking for me."
